Asia Forum on Ageing

IAHSA partnered with the Tsao Foundation to develop the inaugural Asia Forum on Ageing, 12-14 January 2009 at the Suntec Convention Centre, Singapore, a programme geared to pave the way for a sustainable future for an older Asia. International experts shared new trends and developments in housing and community care aimed at broadening the scope of what is possible for ageing in place. The conference was well attended by an international audience of over 280 practitioners, policy makers, and researchers in long-term care, housing, and ageing services.

European Conference

Open exclusively to our European Network, this conference focuses on the unique challenges and opportunities facing ageing services providers in Europe.

Brussels, Belgium hosted the first conference in 2006 where the topic was multiculturalism in European aged care from the perspective of consumers and providers.

The second European conference was held 22-23 May 2008 and addressed a range of critical aged-care topics including programme innovation, the frontline workforce, and leadership development. Attendees participated in a diverse programme that included keynote presentations, panel discussions, facilitated roundtables, and social events. The presentations from the conference are available on the conference Web site.
