IAHSA Updates

October 2007
IAHSA Executive Director Virginia Nuessle participated in the AARP International Event: United States - Germany Dialogue on Long-Term Care. The dialogue convened an elite group of experts and opinion leaders from both the U.S. and Germany for a dialogue to highlight important common challenges and opportunities on key long-term care issues.

December 2007
IAHSA Chair Freek Lapre and Executive Director Virginia Nuessle will attend the National Care Forum 3rd Annual Lecture in London on 5 December 2007.
The lecture will feature Baroness Julia Neuberger, a rabbi, social reformer and member of the House of Lords, where she takes the Liberal Democrat whip. On 29 June 2007, Baroness Neuberger was appointed by the in-coming Prime Minister Gordon Brown as the government's champion of volunteering. Her primary focus on developing volunteerism will begin with the health care sector.
As IAHSA develops the program for the 8th International Conference in London in 2009, we will look for guidance from individuals such as Baroness Neuberger, whose breadth and depth of knowledge is world renowned.
